in addition to the proposed upgrades, what if there was more use of the Facebook page?  I am more likely to go there before I go to a website.  I am often logged in to FB all day.  Not so with NARO website.

I would like to hear opinions on the affect increased production will have on national security and dependency on foreign production. Will the global producers let their tankers go to other destinations or will increased domestic production be added to foreign imports and the supply increases to the point domestic producers are put out of business. I think we all have examples of the industrial example of producing "more for less " as well as the tactic of selling at a loss until the small business is out of business. What assures one that the mega multinationals won't
flood the market until our domestic producers are thinned out. Now in Caddo County, Oklahoma, I literally can see
dozens of new gas wells going on line, using their right to access, as they should, while older wells are being pinched back. Eventually even these new wells will be old wells and they will take their turn. Naturally one should wish for more domestic production at a profitable price and let overseas oil be declined but do domestic refiners and consumers have the choice of saying " I'll buy only domestic origin fuel, thank you!". I notice we have a significant number of producers with memberships other than just royalty owners such as me. Perhaps you can give the rest of us a broader point of view. Thanks

Bill Sinclair wrote:As you've noticed we have a new web site, which is powered by a great tool to manage many administrative tasks for NARO.  As a part of this new tool, we have these forums which we consider a vital part of NARO membership. However, this forum software is incomplete and did not allow us to import our old forums nor does it include many important features like the ability to search.  What we've discussed is installing a more powerful forum software with the drawback being that the passwords would not synchronize between the NARO site and the new forums.

We want to know if you all are okay with that setup knowing that it might be confusing for many of the members to remember two passwords and when to use each one?  Is this an acceptable option or would you prefer that things remain as they are?  Thank you in advance for your feedback!

Would prefer whatever it takes to get the search function working as someone might

not be following the forums consistently but would have the ability to find older posts which

might be relevant to their current issue.

Could you add a "search bar" feature to the message board?

As a new member to NARO, I would greatly appreciate the ability to search on the forums.  It would save hours of work trying to find information on particular topics.  If it means 2 passwords, that's fine with me.  The forum information is a critical service that NARO provides.  Many thanks.

The absence of the search function has continued to frustrate potential users.  If a search function is not installed - I have no reason to continue membership.  Communication within the organization has been excellent in the past - but it appears to no longer be important to NARO.

As a new member, I agree that it would be invaluable to have a search function on the message boards.  It takes hours trying to find posts on certain information.  Could someone please let us know what is being done?  Many thanks.

We've begun a new message board located at http://www.naro-us.org/forums.  You'll need to request a new password but hopefully this wil be a more robust solution.  We will transition all the old boards to read-only in order to preserve any discussions.

I notice I'lm not alone in not being able to access the new message board. It hasn't accepted a new password or my general member password.
