Marion, thanks for all your hard work in alerting us to the danger of HB 1125 and your call for an explanation of the Rockies board on their position. You have gone beyond with supporting documentation and chronicling the development of this fiasco. Some people may not understand the issue, because the bill was killed, but it could have just as easily gone the other way, and that is not why members pay dues or make legislative donations for. I urge anyone who is interested in protecting their royalties to carefully examine Marion's documentation and ask yourself if this is the board you trust to look after your interests. I know, now, that I do not. Representative Fisher announced his intentions toward severance back in 2008, at least, so it should not have "shocked" this board when they surfaced in HB1125 (do the research). Neil's own words in the April ROAR show that this board did not understand the legislative process as well as they thought and how little clout they really had, contrary to their assertion in other documents.
Oh, and many thanks to Mary Ellen Denome for her hard work as past President and her continued help, without any hidden agenda, to mineral owners. Since attacks have been levied on her motives, and capabilities, we are well within the rules of this forum to object to this and support her. That does not make our support a personal attack on anyone.
